Remote Computing

Remote Access is the ability to gain access to program files or data from a location outside of the Local Area network. A user working from home (telecommuting) might use a remote control program to run his workstation on his desk at the office, using his home computer. There he can function as if he were right there in the office! Remote Access can also be a satellite office having access to main customer database or agency management software. This can be a more complex situation, requiring a more robust solution. Utilizing a telecommunication link between offices using such technologies as DSL, Cable, Frame Relay or Fractional T-1 would seamlessly tie the separate networks together as one.
